Community Traffic Safety Awareness Program

 

This program was developed to address the high rates of car seats being improperly installed. Over 95% of parents who have car seats for their children are installing them incorrectly, which poses an even greater risk for infant and child injuries during a car accident. This program provides a one-time class on how to properly install car seats for your baby, infant or child and what kind of car seat is appropriate for their weight and age.

 

• California law requires children to ride protected in child safety seats from birth to 6 years of age or 60lbs.
• In a car crash, a child safety seat can save your child's life.
• If your child needs a car seat, you may be eligible to participate in the Low-Cost or Free Car Seat Safety Program.
