Interpreting & Translation Services

 

The Asian-American Resource Center currently provides translation and interpreting services for the County of San Bernardino, which may include the following agencies and departments:

• Temporary Assistance Department (TAD), Department of Children Family Services (CFS), Department of Behavioral Health (DBH), Department of Public Health (DPH), Probation Department, Appeal Unit (PID), District Attorney, San Bernardino Unified

Moreover, The Center has provided these services to state and federal agencies including the:

• Federal, State, County, City, California Department of Social Services (Disability and Adult Programs Division), Social Security Administration and others

The Center provides most of the Asian languages to ease the accessibility for clients who would otherwise be unable or discouraged from seeking services due to language barriers. Services in Spanish are also available as needed.

We are a culturally sensitive organization conscious of the diversity and needs of our community. As such, we provide our staff/translators with continued training that deals with ethnic issues and cultural sensitivity. Our translators/interpreters are either native speakers of the languages they translate/interpret or are fluent in speaking and writing the language.

Our interpreters and translators are among the most qualified and experienced interpreters and translators anywhere. Most of them have had many years of experience in multi-courtroom settings, socical services, medical services and government agencies.

Please find below a listing of the more popular language requests available; of course, these languages are only some of the many languages available through our organization:

• Arabic, Armenian, Cambodian, Cantonese, Farsi, Hmong, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Laotian, Mandarin, Persian, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog, Thai and Vietnamese
